Spotify update for free users doesn't work on my iPhone

My Question or Issue

I updated Spotify back in September when the new update for free users came out (being able to search and play specific songs). However, my account was never updated. Even now, I can't choose what specific songs I want to play, even though I have the updated version of the app (9.0.86.1354) and have uninstalled and reinstalled it many times, cleared the cache, deleted and recovered my account, etc. When I made a new account to test it out, the update worked in that account and I could choose whatever specific song I wanted to play. However, I don't want to make a new account and I want to keep my old account. Could my Spotify account not have updated because it's old? I made it back in 2018.
