Spotify will not work on ipod touch 2g

I am trying to install spotify. On my iPod touch 2nd gen running IOS 4.2.1. When I try to download / install it. I get message saying you need to upgrade to IOS 5. But, 4.2.1 is the latest IOS for that device.

It's crazy because on android old system 2.3.6 (honeycomb) same time for ipod 2g touch.Spotify work very well with spotify free and there are 2 versions of spotify on google play for new and old os.And the 2 versions work with spotify free!=====>Apple and Spotify  or not friendly with IOS user's!

Unfortunately not. Spotify free on mobile requires iOS 6 or above on Apple devices.

Just enter the appstore on the ipod touch and download the spotify app via the device. It will tell you that the latest version of Spotify is not compatible with your version of the OS, but you can download the latest compatible version. Problem solved! 😃
