I have the same problem. I get the "want to play songs in any order?" pop up saying I need premium. I don't want shuffle automatically selected and apparently, I need to pay to turn that off.

Hi folks,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

Sounds like you had access to Premium features on the mobile app for a limited duration. In general, full on-demand playback is not supported on the mobile app for free users, meaning most music will be available in Shuffle-mode only.

Still, there are up to 15 Pick-and-play playlists found in the Made for You section under Search, which allow you to listen without Shuffle and also give you the option to sort and filter (i.e. search within the playlist). Sort and filter can be accessed by swiping down at the top of the playlist.

More info on the differences between free and Premium can be found here.

Hope this clears things up. The Community is always here if there's anything else we can assist with.

Cheers 🤘

I tried this and I think I fixed things, but the only thing that comes up when I click on the shuffle icon on my phone is "Want to play songs in order?" and then a "explore premium" button. (I don't have premium)
