Switching devices on iOS and iPadOS doesn’t work most times

Since some days ago, can’t pinpoint any specific app update, the Spotify app doesn’t work smoothly anymore when switching devices. I have a Yamaha soundbar in the living room, an Echo Dot in the bedroom and a Bose SoundTouch in the home office and I’ve continuously moved my music seamlessly across those devices while playing it.

If I switch device while playing, unless the device is the iPhone or iPad itself, now the music would just stop playing and the current track on Spotify is reset, i.e. the track is not just being paused but the play/pause button disappears as it the track were “deselected” so I can only look at the history and start playing that track from its start.

This appears to be fixed now, probably something server side as the app hasn’t been updated in the meantime. I’ll double check in the next few days.
