My Question or Issue
Hi,
It has been severals weeks since I no longer see my AirPods connected to Apple Watch through Spotify app. Basically, when I try to switch the audio output, only my iPhone and Apple Watch are visible. AirPods are still operating for other apps like Apple Music or Apple Podcast. Thank you for your help.

ParacelsusZwickl is correct however, to be specific, you must turn Bluetooth off on your phone and unpair and pair directly from AirPods to your Watch. Hold the button on the back of the AirPods case until you see a flashing white light while in the Bluetooth app on your watch; it should come up. Once paired directly from your Watch to your Airpods, reboot your Watch. If it doesn't play, but you see it at this point in Spotify, reboot your cellular. This worked for me.
I also have this problem. Is there any solution, yet? Or is the only solution to use Apple Music instead?
Have you tried resetting your AirPods and re-pairing them with your Apple Watch? It might also be worth checking if your Spotify app is up to date and if there are any known issues with the app on Apple Watch.

Good luck, and I hope you're able to get your AirPods working with Spotify soon! By the way, if you need more tech-related tips and advice, you might want to check out https://multitechverse.com/.
Hundreds of paying customers (includes me) clearly having the same issue and only nondescript answers from spotify. Should be clear to them by now that a factory reset won't fix it. When will you fix the bug, spotify?
I’m having the same exact issue. Looks like it was a bug in the latest app release?
iPhone 11, iOS 17.5.1
Apple watch SE, version 10.5
Spotify version 8.9.42.597
Airpods 2nd generation
Can connect to any other device with airpods. Used to be able to pair airpods directly to apple watch spotify - no longer shows up as a 'play on device' option on the app.
Done factory resets for both, re-installed spotify app on both, paired and unpaired airpods, updated both spotify apps
