Very slow radio streaming on iOS devices via Wi-Fi

 Description

Basicly Spotify radio doesn't work via Wi-Fi on both of my iOS devices, even tho it works perfectly fine when using 3G connection. I experience some issues on my Windows PC atm as well (ocassional error 802 and slow transfer...), but on the other hand both my Android phone and tablet are fine. Issue gets worse the higher quality I set, but it persists even on 'normal'.

 

It seems like there's transfer rate issue somewhere, since after some time of buffering it plays 10-20s of song and than buffers again for 30-40s.

 

It is limited ONLY to Spotify - my iTuns Match works perfectly fine, as does App downloading and anything else you can imagine.

I have same problem on iPhone 4S 16 GB and iPad mini 16GB&3G

Nope

 

Approximately how many playlists do you have?

None. Just tried to use radio.

0.6.4.2 (iOS), 0.6.2.64 (Android)

My provider and country


Poland, cable - Toya sp.z o.o. 60 Mbps down/3 Mbps up (tested via speedtest.net...)

 

3G in T-Mobile and Play networks, no idea how fast, but kinda guess slower than Wi-Fi...

 

EDIT:

I've put my iPhone's IP into "DMZ" on my Dlink DIR-645 router (basicly router makes it connect to internet w/o any interruptions whatsoever, just like it would via modem). It seems to be working better (but still worse than on 3G o.O)... Sadly I don't have idea how to set up the router so it does work with conventional settings :/.

Hey there!

You may could list up your network devices please.

And make sure your router/ modem/ acces point isn't blocking any ports of 🎧Spotify to ensure an undistriceted experience!

Well, I've disabled all firewall-related stuff in router...

 

As for devices connected to router - on avg: PC via cable, MacBook, iPad, iPhone, Android phone and Android tablet. Problem exists on PC and iPad/iPhone.

Because the problem is pc and iPhone based it should be something with your 🌎Internet🌎 connection ....
But you can try to reset the network settings of your iPhone ...

Go to settings, general, reset, reset all network settings

Worked sometimes considering the same problem with the radio service of 🎧Spotify!
