Hey brother! Volume slider didn't go away it just decided to play a little hide and seek.
When you look at the track you'll probably see the airplay button at the bottom. Ex:
Click on that littke area (looks like a box with a triangle pointing up at the bottom) and you should see the volume slider! Ex:
