Why doesn’t my Spotify search feature work?

Why can’t I search music on Spotify? I can play it from my library but whenever I click on the loupe to search, the app closes and of course my music stops playing. I have restarted my phone, logged out of my account and deleted the app to reinstall it many times but still nothing. What can I do or why does this happen?

First up, you mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a regular one? 

If this doesn't do the trick, would you mind checking if you have any battery optimization software running on your phone? In case you have one - we'd suggest that you try to add the Spotify app to the exceptions of the battery optimization app to see if that fixes the issue.

If the issue persists, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone to see if they can replicate this with their own account?
