Why is playback switching from my iPhone to my Laptop

When I am listening to Spotify on my iPhone via Airpods, playback will often switch to my Laptop. I don't even have to be in the vicinity of the Laptop, I can be several kilometers away on a run when this happens. I can switch playback to my iPhone but quite often it will transfer back to my Laptop again. I have switched off 'Spotify Connect Control' in settings as I read that this might help but this did not solve it. Any help appreciated.

Could you try the following steps and see if it helps:

1. Log into Spotify.com and open your account overview page. You can also click the direct link here.
2. Scroll down and click the sign out everywhere option.
3. This will log you out of all the Spotify instances. Note that this might also remove your offline downloads but you can download them again.
4. Try to reproduce the playback issue again and see if it persists.

As I listen to Spotify through the native Mac app on my MacBook, playback will incorrectly and randomly switch back to my iPhone, completely unprompted by me. This will happen when the phone is locked sitting on my desk, including after I've even force quit the app on my phone.

Extremely annoying. Is this a known issue being worked on?
