My Question or Issue
I am getting a strange pop up message when I start Spotify. *And every time I tap the Home icon!* It says You’re in control and has a button that says Choose. There is no way to dismiss this message. Pressing Choose does nothing but the pop up goes away.
This is with a premium account. What in the world is going on?

I understand your concern. This pop-up is legit and it's from Spotify.
Also, you should be receiving an iOS pop-up notification after tapping CHOOSE. I'd recommend making sure that you have Spotify notifications enabled, so the pop-up can work as it should.

Its obviously from Spotify, it’s inside the app. The issue is the questionable behavior. It looks like an ad, but I have Premium. If it’s not an ad, it’s trying to get me to change some setting and it keeps bugging me. That is ad-like nagware. It should only ask once if it’s going to ask at all.

No pop ups after clicking. Feels broken. And I have had iOS notifications enabled for Spotify for years (see pic).
Updated OP. I am seeing this pop up every time I tap the home icon on the bottom of the app. This is incredibly annoying. Someone borked it up.
Spotify has this new popup in order to be compliant with the new privacy and data use policies that Apple has implemented with iSO 14.5. For more information about this you can read here. You've probably seen other iOS apps ask this as well.
Only thing I can think to try is a reinstall of the app. This hasn't yet shown up in my Spotify app so I can't test this out yet.
Same problem! I rejoined Apple Music, thinking about switching back because this constant nagging is driving me nuts.
This has been happening to me for months. It does not give me a choice to say no, and I order to use the app I have to close it and reopen it. Spotify It’s nagware and it’s very annoying.
I know this issue is from a while ago, but has anyone figured out a way to solve this? It’s recently begun happening to me as well, and nothing I’ve done is working.
I’ve checked my notifications— they’re all on, and yet I’m not getting any kind of pop-up after hitting ‘choose’. I’ve reinstalled the app— it’s there, waiting for me. I’m not sure why it’s happening, or how to make it go away for good.

Apologies for the radio silence here.
If you're experiencing issues with the pop-up, try some basic troubleshooting like logging out and back in a couple of times and clean reinstalling the app and if those don't help, send us the following:
Also, make sure to try enabling/disabling tracking from your iOS settings (Privacy & Security - Tracking - Spotify) and see if that changes anything.

It would be really helpful if you could send us the recording you mentioned in your next response. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it).
Also, remember to include the make, model, and exact OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

I went to settings, apps, Spotify, advance settings, then I clicked on the record to play at the bottom. It started playing and then I licked the artist for the song and it opened up in Spotify. I then went to settings in Spotify and clicked on the Notification tab and adjusted the notification setting to my email and push notifications and now it’s gone.

My Question or Issue
Since yesterday, when I open my Spotify app, a pop up appear with a "select" button, but when I click on it, the pop up constantly reappears 2 seconds later, so I can't hear my music. I tried to change my setting and I also tried reinstalling my app many times but it doesn't work. I hope someone could help me.
Hey yall - figured out a temp solution til Spotify figures their sh_ out. Go to Privacy and Security > tracking > toggle off “Allow Apps to Request to track”

the same with me, installed om iPad apple, reinstall Spotify. I have premium and pay monthly......a lot.
choose the choose button does not work. Message still returns as a pop up. Can't use the app on iPad. No problem on iMac or iphonr. But i want the app on the iPad. Help! How to let this annoying app dissapear
