can't get songs to download to offline

it just shows a spinning thinking circle... forever. and ever. I have premium. and I've tried stopping the sync, flipping it back on, closing app, downloading only a one song playlist.. nothing works. please help. this is taking much value out of my membership...

How much free space on your iPhones do you guys have? We recommend at least 500MB (ideally more) for offline syncing.

I can't download on my ipdad, but can on my iPhone. Very frustrating. Plenty of space. It just spins
