iCloud backup for Spotify is huge

My Question or Issue

I just got a new phone and restored from back up from my old iPhone. The iCloud back up for Spotify app is massive on the new one like close to 3.5gb. I deleted the app and redownloaded and now downloading all the songs again to the new phone. My old phones iCloud back up for Spotify was small close to 4.5mb or less yet I had a couple thousand songs downloaded there. The above steps didn’t fix it as it went right back up to a large backup size 

old phone has about 32gb of downloaded songs yet a 4.5mb iCloud backup and the new phone has about 4gb of download songs and 3.5gb iCloud backup as noted above. 

can anyone help fix this as Spotify is using a huge part of my iCloud backup for no reason

This didn't help at all. The link provided is just a link to this thread again. Yea I can turn off iCloud backup but that literally does not solve the issue as I still want ICloud to back up spotify like it used to do which was general app data
