[iOS] How to upload music to iPhone spotify app?

[iOS] How to upload music to iPhone spotify app?

I have Premium Spotify but can't play local files on my phone. Here are the steps I took:

On Spotify Desktop

1. I went to "Settings" then "Local Files", and turned on "Show Local Files"

2. I clicked "Add A Source" and added my desktop folder with mp3 files

3. I created a "New Playlist" and added the songs from "Local Files"

4. Inside the new playlist, I turned on "Downloaded"

On Spotify Iphone

1. I connected to the same WiFi as the desktop.

2. I went to "Settings" then "Local Files" and turned on "Local Audio Files"

3. I allowed Spotify to find devices in the prompt that popped up.

4. I went to the playlist I created, and clicked on the green arrow download button. (It started to download then immediately stopped).

The songs are playable on the desktop app, but not on my iphone.

I tried restarting both devices, reinstalling both apps, logging out of both apps, and completely starting over several times. Each time the playlist starts to download but then stops, and the songs are not playable on the phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @radio531, thanks for reaching out!

Let's get these Local Files on your iPhone app. There are a few steps we can try here. Could you make sure both devices are all up-to-date, both the Spotify app and the OS versions? Also, just to make sure, the devices need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and the Spotify app must be open on both devices at the same time?

Let me know if that's the case! 🙂

Have a good one,
