My Question or Issue
I’ve noticed that the Spotify widget doesn’t tint properly on iOS26. I looks every weird and I think this might be a glitch because I’ve seen some other Spotify users not having this problem. Here is an example of my home screen with my Spotify widget not tinting properly and also tinting the art cover.
hey,
so i already did this several times but i think it is an actual spotify bug, because some of my friends who are also spotify users have the same problem and to be honest i don’t know where to report such bug.
Hi, @softhibiscuspetals,
Welcome to the Spotify Community!
If I understood you correctly:
Could you check if switching between Light and Dark tint improves this? It's also worth removing the widget and adding it again to see if that helps.
A couple of additional screenshots which showcase how things look on your end with other colors would be greatly appreciated. You mentioned some of your friends can also reproduce this - feel free to ask for assistance as well.
Cheers 🤘
hi there,
so yes basically those are the issues i’ve been facing with the widget. i already deleted and reinstalled Spotify a couple of times to see if it would fix this issue but it just simply doesn’t. and removing and replacing the widget didn’t help either. this issue is also happening with different colors and with the tinted dark mode and clear mode too. here are some examples:
Thanks for the quick response @softhibiscuspetals and we really appreciate your input here with the screenshots.
We did some testing and it looks like the hue of the tinted widget version depends on what the original background of the song would be without the tint. Including some screenshots from our end as well:
Regardless, we'd like to thank you for reporting this and we've forwarded the details on to the relevant team to have a look.
Should you need help with anything else, we're just a post away in the meantime. Take care!
hey it’s me again,
i really don’t want to come out as pushy but it’s clear that there’s an inconsistency here between the users whose widget come out like mine and those who don’t have this issue. as a person that often uses pinterest i’ve noticed that this doesn’t happen to certain people i will include some pictures. this also doesn’t seem to happen to apple music or soundcloud users with their widgets.
Hey again @softhibiscuspetals,
Thank you for returning and providing these screenshots.
So far, we haven't received similar reports from other users in the forum. While it's difficult to determine exactly what is happening for other users in the screenshots you provided, the team has confirmed that a song's album artwork can influence whether the widget appears darker or lighter.
We truly appreciate your feedback and insight. We're always striving to improve our features and refine the user experience on Spotify, and your input helps us do just that.
Don't hesitate to let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. We're just a post away.
Have a good one!
hey it’s me again,
i really don’t understand why this won’t be fixed this is clearly not intentional. spotify has already had various widget glitches in the past so why don’t just fix it?
