Update: iOS update 0.5.9 has fixed the stability issues. Please update now and test it out.
The new iOS 0.5.8 update has killed the iPad app. Even after reinstall it constantly crashes. What's going on?
I'm running iOS 6.0.1 on the 4th generation iPad.
Spotify can't seem to get their act together...
New update also kills the people tab on the iPad.
When clicking on the people tab, friends are shown for a few seconds and then the list disappears.
This happens on every re-launch. There is no way to get the people list to show for more than 3 seconds.
Also after clicking on settings and clicking on a settings menu on the iPad, the settings back arrow is cut off at the top.
My music experience has been ruined by these bugs.
UPDATE:
I was able to use the app for a while -- notice the other bugs I found -- and after downloading playlists for offline use, the app started crashing.
Looks like downloading any playlist for offline use will constantly crash the app until you reinstall the app.
The most used feature on the iPad app constantly crashes the app?
What...? Updates need more testing before going live.
I would be happy to help test future updates.

It looks like my setup was fixed by folks at Spotify. I"ve removed my workaround, which appears to be invalid. Apologies to anyone who wasted time on it, that was not my intent.
Keeps crashing to home page each time I open the app.
Cant even open Spotify!
Any ETA for a fix?
Description
The Spotify app on my iPad mimicrashes every time i scroll my playlist down to a certain point.
A more detailed description, using numbered steps
1. Updated to the latest version of the Spotify app (0.5.8)
2. Open spotify, it shows my playlists screen by default (the bug only seems to affect this screen)
3. I scroll to bottom to see a folder and it crashes to home screen. If i scroll right to the bottom within a playlist, or within a folder containing no sub-folders, it works fine. The issue only affects the root Playlists view.
4. I tried closing all apps and rebooting.
5. I tried deleting downloaded playlists, and songs from playlists.
6. I tried managing my playlists and sync for PC application.
7. I deleted the spotify app and reinstalled
8. I deleted the spotify app, then rebooted and then reinstalled. Still broken.
What I expected to happen
The app to work and allow me to scroll to the bottom of my playlist list and not crash continually.
What actually happend

If i scroll past this point it crashes. I can scroll as much as I like above that point.
Ever since I installed the latest version of Spotify on my iPad Mini, it keeps crashing. Literally every time I open it, it crashes within a minute or less. Any suggestions?? Thanks!
yeah i always use landscape. wish they would fix this issue. so annoying lol. thanks for the advice any way!
Hi, after updating my Spotify App to the latest version, my IPad 2 crashes when opening the Spotify App, and when I get "in" after some trying, it crashes (sends me back to the "desktop") when I scroll past a certain point in my Playlists. Frustrating......
I've tried to restart-clear-shut down- empty and finally removing an reinstalling the app with no success.
First I thought it was something wrong with my IPad, since my Iphone5 works fine, but after reading about it here I understand it's not so...I haven't tried to sync the local files to my IPhone, afraid it might turn crazy too....
My IOS is updated to version 6.0.1(10A523), I've checked for updates, and its the latest one.....
My Spotify App was updated a few days ago, to App version 0.5.8.73 and Spotify Core 0.7.1.6113
My IPad is not Jailbroken, and my operator is Telenor.
I have both WIFI and net, and a 32 GB Pad.....
Please find a solution, this is so frustrating!!!!
Same problem.
Things like this are why people stop updating apps, it was working perfectly before the update, and is now unusable, crashes on start up. Annoying. iPad iOS 6.0.1.
Looks like the "playlist fix" done on Spotify's side has stopped working for me also.
It was working after being fixed but is now back to crashing whenever I open a playlist folder and try to scroll or play a song.
Pretty frustrating.
still no solution...what about my 10 Euros/month?
Can someone please give me a step by step on how to cancel my premium subscription since they obviously are going to take quite a long time to fix this and do not seem to have any phone support? Thanks...
If they do indeed fix it, and pledge to implement actual quality assurance and testing, then I might resubscribe.
Nevermind - I finally found it after sifting through the 50 or so questions in their FAQ.
Sadly, have uninstalled and unsubsribed this morning. Going to give Rdio a try. I know their library is not as full, but at least the app works.
Any news?
Why don't Spotify roll back the latest update? Clearly the latest version need to be worked on much more.
When can I start using Spotify on iPad again?
Why is there no information on the website about ongoing work with the latest update? It is so frustrating!
I cannot read through all of these posts to find a solution, but from a glance it doesn't seem like there is one availabe.
I'm using an iPad 3 and iPhone 5 with the latest OS. I have gotten my iPad to stop a crash loop when trying to log in by simply not synchronizing my playlists locally, but my playsts are jacked-up on both devices. They're essentialy all there, but it's a mixture of all my playlists stuck inside playlist folders that I have long since deleted.
I'm usually patient with all of this since I do technical implementation and can empathize, but I don't really have much patience for a service I'm paying for. Especially one that worked prior to an update. It's unexcusable that you would release an update before doing through testing. Period.
I log in with my Facebook account. I am unsure what information you want from me to verify the configuration of my account and I would rather not put y email address where SPAMers can pick it.
I send a message on twitter to @SpotifyCares they responded within the hour and asked for account name and the email address linked to the account.
Since this morning I am no longer having any problems.
It might be something to do with migrating your profile to another server or somehting, which is what I read on differen forums.
So before you unsubscribe, send them a message. Might be an easy fix.
