Update: iOS update 0.5.9 has fixed the stability issues. Please update now and test it out.
The new iOS 0.5.8 update has killed the iPad app. Even after reinstall it constantly crashes. What's going on?
I'm running iOS 6.0.1 on the 4th generation iPad.
Spotify can't seem to get their act together...
New update also kills the people tab on the iPad.
When clicking on the people tab, friends are shown for a few seconds and then the list disappears.
This happens on every re-launch. There is no way to get the people list to show for more than 3 seconds.
Also after clicking on settings and clicking on a settings menu on the iPad, the settings back arrow is cut off at the top.
My music experience has been ruined by these bugs.
UPDATE:
I was able to use the app for a while -- notice the other bugs I found -- and after downloading playlists for offline use, the app started crashing.
Looks like downloading any playlist for offline use will constantly crash the app until you reinstall the app.
The most used feature on the iPad app constantly crashes the app?
What...? Updates need more testing before going live.
I would be happy to help test future updates.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Why release an upgrade that doesn't work. I'm not going to update the software anymore!! I'm getting really sick of upgrades breaking apps. This happens almost everytime an upgrade is realesed!!!
Have you heard of testing it before releasing it on your customers??? I really enjoy using the app but this is ridiculous.
FIX IT!!
Does anyone know of an alternative program that does something similar but actually works properly?? Bring on some competition and I'll switch.
Same here - latest iOS and spotify update on both iPhone and iPad with premium account still nothing but crash on both devices. This really is taking too long and should have been dealt with already - at least show some interest and give some feedback - I'm really not into working around bugs and putting out tweets to get my account moved to another server to achieve normal functionality. As a paying customer this should be provided for me.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to assure you all the team is still busy working on a solution.
I've just done some maintenance on many of your accounts as Bengan was able to do before. Some of your playlists might have moved but it should work just fine now.
As soon as we have an another update we'll post right here--thanks!

If I am to guess, almost everyone with this problem has just upgraded to IOS 6.0.1. I really believe the crashing problem is not only a problem for the Spotify-app, but for almost all apps. After I updated to IOS 6.0.1, almost all apps crashes! My best solution, until a new upgrade of the IOS 6 is published is to close all running apps and do a restart of the iPAD (version 2). After the restart everything runs fine, for a while, then apps start to crash left and right. It looks like there might be serious error in IOS 6.0.1, e.g. a memory leak or IOS instruction problem, which needs to be solved deeper down in the IOS than in the apps them selves.
PS! I just closed all apps and restarted, because Safari was crashing constantly while I was browsing the Web for an explanation/solution to the crashing problem. After I restarted I'm running Spotify (as a single app) and it works just fine. However, I expect apps starting to crash again soon after opening more apps...
"If I am to guess, almost everyone with this problem has just upgraded to IOS 6.0.1."
I was happily running iOS 5 and had very little reason to upgrade to 6. I upgraded to 6.0.1 from 5.X in the hopes that it would fix this problem, or help it. Not so. Same behavior in iOS 5 or 6.
Hi everyone! I'm really sorry to hear so many of you are suffering from this issue. I assure you that we do care, and we're currently working on solving this to have a fix out as soon as possible.
Same problem here too. iPad 3 and ios 6.0.1
crash everytime I start spotify.
"If I am to guess, almost everyone with this problem has just upgraded to IOS 6.0.1."
Actually, I had it when I was on 5.0.1, 5.1.1, and 6.0.1. OS version makes no difference.
I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Old (previously delete) playlists now appear on my iPhone5. When I attempt to delete the playlists the app consistany crashes and the playlist is not deleted. This is unacceptable and should have been tested more thoruoughly!
Me too, exact same issue. If my QA team was responsible for this realease we woulda all been fired!
Hi, same issue as the rest of the thread, added in the details just incase it helps with troubleshooting. Minor blip in a fantastic service.
