Update: iOS update 0.5.9 has fixed the stability issues. Please update now and test it out.
The new iOS 0.5.8 update has killed the iPad app. Even after reinstall it constantly crashes. What's going on?
I'm running iOS 6.0.1 on the 4th generation iPad.
Spotify can't seem to get their act together...
New update also kills the people tab on the iPad.
When clicking on the people tab, friends are shown for a few seconds and then the list disappears.
This happens on every re-launch. There is no way to get the people list to show for more than 3 seconds.
Also after clicking on settings and clicking on a settings menu on the iPad, the settings back arrow is cut off at the top.
My music experience has been ruined by these bugs.
UPDATE:
I was able to use the app for a while -- notice the other bugs I found -- and after downloading playlists for offline use, the app started crashing.
Looks like downloading any playlist for offline use will constantly crash the app until you reinstall the app.
The most used feature on the iPad app constantly crashes the app?
What...? Updates need more testing before going live.
I would be happy to help test future updates.

should give us the option to change a title in a playlist
The new update is working fine on my iOS devices, but my playlist folders are slightly all over the place - is there a way to match them better with my desktop paylist structure?
0.5.9 still immediately crashes for me. If I am quick enough to get to offline mode it will not crash after that point, but as soon as I go to online mode it crashes. Anyone else experiencing this issue even after the 0.5.9 update? I'm running it on iPhone 5 with the latest OS.
Hi richard
Can you please take the playlist"personal playlist" out of the iTunes folder.
Please reply
How are things looking now, guys?
I'm having the same problem. Also, on my iPHone there is an empty SpotON radio folder that I can't delete. On top of this a bunch of my playlists and folders were spontaneously relocated there. I was able to get them out by changing their ordering in the desktop app, but the behavior is very troubling. Also, the rogue folder does not even appear on my desktop version; only iOS. I have tried deleting and reinstalling Spotify on my device and the folder remains. I HATE SPOTON RADIO!!!

the fact I'm paying for a premium service with not being able to play or use spotify on either ipad and iphone is extremely annoying! is there a new update fixing tis issue? Or when is it available to download??J
Hi,
i run 0.5.9 and spotify crashes a few seconds after startup. Sometimes I have time to listen the beginning of a song, then it cAshes. Sometimes, I don't have time to click on anything and it crashes. I rebooted my ipad, but didn't want to reinstall the app. I have 2 dozens playlists maybe and a dozen folders. I suspect the folder hierarchy to be the culprit since it was working before I organised my playlists into folders. Spotfify, can your guilds or chapters of testers have a look into this 🙂 ?
edit : I turned the offline mode on and I don't have crashes anymore. It may indicate that the issue is related to the folders...

I've made some changes directly to your playlist structure (just a fix on our end). Do you still get the crashes?

Hello!
I have exactly the same problem as some other here.. Spotify crashes a few seconds after start up, IF it is on Online mode. It works fine (with synced songs) if on offline mode, or if i have the phone on air plane mode.
Spotify version 0.5.9 (newest)
iPhone 4 (not iPad, just to clarify)
iOS6.0.1 (newest)
This version of Spotify has worked before on my phone, but stopped working maybe a week ago. I had been making new playlists and playlist folders on my computer, so this could be related to playlist or folders, as someone suspected.
Before it started crashing, I also accessed Spotify with Onkyo TX-NR609 av-reciever, but I don't think it has anything to do with it.
My account name is ilmari.korjus
Hope you find a fix, thank you!
I have tried both the 0.5.8 and 0.5.9 iOS versions with my ipad3 and iPhone4S, in both situations my playlists get messed up. Luckily I still had the older version of the app saved on my computer.
Is this issue going to be fixed in the next version of the app?
I have set of steps to make my app crash every time.
First off I deleted the Safari cache and history, restarted the phone (iPhone 4S, non-jailbroken 6.0.1), and reinstalled the app from the App Store.
Now, I do the following:
nb the icons overlap when I delete the dupe:

I have to reopen the app and relogin every time. There are other things that cause a crash, like adding a playlist, making a playlist available offline, other random events, but this is consistent.
The duplicate playlist doesn't appear on the Mac Spotify app but it was there before I had to reinstall Spotify on my phone for crashing all the time.

iMpostor / Hypnosimon / iucundus - I've fixed part of your Playlist structure, so things should be fine now. Please let us know if things play up again.
I'm afraid this didn't help. It still crashes just like before.
Me neither I'm afraid - I get the alert telling me I'm about to delete it now but it still crashes when I confirm.
playlists still all messed up so I deleted all of them, then I installed the apps on both phone and ipad. App still very unstable, regularly shuts its self down.
thanks
I am experiancing the same issue across both the iPad app, as well as the iPhone app. While the iPhone app on occasion can seem a bit more stable, the iPad app constantly reproduces the crashing issue within 45 seconds of playing any track.

Hi
In the past week, Spotify fails to load or run on either the iPhone 4S or the iPad 2.
I created a bunch of new playlists on Sunday, since when it has failed to work at all.
I deleted the App and reinstalled on both devices and it worked. I've just created a new Playlist and hey presto, it will not load again!
Up until Sunday, the problem was that Spotify was crashing on either device after about 20 seconds of music.
VERY frustrating!
