iPhone 4S not working with Car USB

iPhone 4S not working with Car USB

Hi,

I've got an iPhone 4S iOS 6.1.3. I have a Ford Focus with no Bluetooth (unfortunately) :(, but it has a USB port. I can connect my iPhone to this and it will play music from my phone. However, if I open Spotify and try to play music it will play for a couple of seconds and revert back to the music app.

I've looked online and tried all the different techniques like; quitting the music app and hitting the sleep button as soon as I press play on Spotify but it doesn't work.

Does any one have any suggestions...?

Hi 🙂

Just need more information at first ;D
What's your radio model?
And got it speech recognition or Ford Sync?

Hi,

The radio is just a standard - AM/FM Radio/CD player with a - USB connection. Not sure what else you need for model...?

It has no speech recignition or Ford Sync...

If I play a song on Spotify, then connect it to my car after, click on AUX... it will play that song (which is an improvement). However, when the song finishes, or if I change the song from Car Controls or iPhone it stops playing and reverts back to Music App. Then I cannot play another song from Spotify unless I repeat the first steps.

A lot of people have said this is an iPhone issue but I'm not sure... Playing music videos through YouTube seems to be fine, so not sure if this is a Spotify issue?

Thanks for your reply and help 🙂

Okay, and two may stupid question ....
If you listen to 🎧Spotify over headphones, everything's normal?!?
And if you play music over your normal iPhone music app everything's okay?

If yes than its definitely an iPhone Problem.
The soft version would be to reinstall the 🎧Spotify app.
And the hard version to reset your entire iOS.

Hope the first step would be enough 🙂

No such thing as a stupid question... 🙂

Answer to both questions is Yes.

I'll try both of the steps you have recommended. Hopefully step 1 works!

Another option would be to consider a jailbreak. If it is determined to be an iOS issue, there may be a jb fix tweak available...

Yeah could possible try that... I think that will be the last resort!

Might try my brothers phone who has an iPhone 5 and see what the results are.

I'm using a tweak that lets me set Spotify as my default music player. I love it.

Would you like to share that tweak to a friend in need…

It's called SpotiPlay (modmyi repo). Enjoy!

I have the same problem!
Did you find any solution?

If you are using iOS 7, unfortunately this is a known issue
