iPhone X won’t connect via WiFi

I just recently made the switch to the iPhone X and have had some connection issues while attempting to connect via WiFi. There isn’t any issues while using my phones data connection, but I’m working overseas and often WiFi connection is a lot more convenient than having to rack up charges to my wireless account, while abroad. Is any one else having this issue? And has there been a solution to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.
