iPhone does not show up in devices

iPhone does not show up in devices

I have been reading the posts and so I know this is a recurring problem. I have tried some of the solutions provided but they haven't worked.

I am using Spotify on my iPhone 4 and on my Macbook.

I have re-installed the app on both my laptop and the iPhone (in fact, I had to resync all my playlists) but the iPhone still does not show up under the Devices tab on the desktop client.

I have checked the following:

- Both devices are connected to the same network

- Both applications are updated.

- I have Spotify Premium

I am really frustrated and might consider discontinuing Premium if this is not solved soon.

Hi there @pedro_gatvelz! Welcome to the Spotify Community.

So sorry you're having some trouble...let's see if we can get it fixed, :).

Are you using a program which handles your firewall? Your Mac could be refusing to acknowledge the iPhone because of some permission issues in the firewall software.

Have you tried connecting with a cable? Sometimes hard-wiring is the best way to go, :).

Let me know if any of these did or didn't help, :).

Edit #1:

In addition, make sure your device is not off (make sure the screen is constantly on) and to be on the Spotify App. This way Spotify can recognize the device. When I tried it with my device, I noticed it would automatically disconnect when my iDevice went to sleep.

Spotify on!

Hi

I had similar problems, also that not all my songs for offline mode will sync. Tried alot of possible solutions but my problem was the ESET firewall. By temporarily disabling it, my phone immediately appeared under devices and also synced the problematic songs. I'm running Windows 7 Pro & ESET Smart Security 5.0.94.0

Check out the connection troubleshooting guide. If you're sure everything is correct, sometimes restarting the iphone and/or the router can work.

Temporarily disable your firewall, worked for me
