iPhone randomly switches to other podcasts

My Question or Issue

While listening to podcasts my SPOTIFY app randomly switches to another podcast episode marking the one I was listening to as PLAYED; which loses my place.    I notice the error multiple times per week and some times multiple times per day.

Happening constantly for us too but over an alexa device. Start playing a podcast episode and multiple times in the episode it will switch episodes completely.

I’m also having a similar issue, I’m playing Joe Rogan and listening to the pod cast, but if i open my screen for any reason for example check an email, text message, browse the internet. As soon as i unlock my phone and open the home screen the podcast stops / freezes and is marked as complete. It then tries to play a totally different podcast from my favourites. I have to force close the app and replay from the beginning of the episode and guess where i was at. Only happens when listening to Joe Rogan podcast. Music is totally fine. (Iphone 15 Pro Max IOS 18.1)

2025 still happening for me. Unlock the phone, marks current podcast episode as complete, skips to next episode. Irritating as **bleep**.
