ipod touch spotify app closes out instantly

I just bought spotify pemium today so I can sync my music to my ipod touch 32 gb. I installed the app on my ipod and everything is set up for premium on my desktop, but once I am able to login to the app on the ipod, it  closes within 4 seconds. The ipod also shows up in "devices" for about 4 seconds and then disappears too. This isn't allowing me to get started with my premium account and start listening to my music on my ipod, which is really frustrating because I've waited months to get premium and now it doesn't even work. I tried everything; restarting the app, authorizing my itunes, making sure both were connected to the same wireless, logging in through facebook on both the computer and ipod, etc.

Please help!

we are paying customers, this needs to be fixed.
