local files folder not showing up in library after activating

I previously uploaded a local file to my laptop and it works there, but shows as grayed out on the playlist I put it into on my computer when I tried to open it on my iPhone 8. I switched on "show audio files from this device" under the local files tab in settings, but the folder doesn't show up in my library. If anyone knows how I can get either way to work, it would be appreciated!
