local files wont play on my iphone

i downloaded the song on my laptop and the song from local files plays on my laptop. but in the same playlist on my iphone the song wont play. both my devices are connected to the same wifi and the playlist is downloaded on both laptop and iphone. none of the videos or websites ive seen helped.

I am having the same issue as well. It worked for me before I upgraded to a newer iPhone but now it is not working.

Hey there,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

The Local Files must be present on the device you want to play them on for them to work. Syncing between devices is not possible anymore.

Here is an FAQ with device specific steps on how to achieve that.

My local files folder is downloaded on my phone. SOME of the songs, from the SAME source, will NOT play, while others WILL play. I have never had this issue before. How do I fix it?

You can't. Spotify never cared about its users. This feature was always 50:50. Sometimes all files work, sometimes 90 %. Now as soon as I reopen Spotify Downloaded files suddenly doesnt work anymore. Im done with Spotify.
