"Try Again" constantly; takes forever to connect; lag time

This is maddening because Spotify has worked seamlessly for so long now. However, I'm a quick minute away from casting it aside and switching to a different service. When I first launch Spotify, it spends a good 30 seconds in the "connecting" process. When it finally finishes that, there's a lag time before the song I select actually starts to play. On top of that, I'll leave the app and come back, and when I return, guess what? "An error occurred," with a try again button that I can press 205,385 times to no avail. I have to force quit the app, start again, and wait for it to "connect," even though I have a solid wifi signal. I tried disconnecting the device via settings on the website, deleting the app and logging out then reinstalling, etc. Nothing happened. I need an actual solution or here comes Apple Music.

I noticed this started about a year or so ago, all devices same problem, very annoying, especially before getting into a car to connect with bluetooth. This is a system problem, nothing to do with your local device. I had Google Play for 3 months and never had this issue... makes one think...

Yeah, I switched to Apple Music. At least they have actual customer support instead of some asinine forum. I can't be bothered by businesses that don't respect their customers.
