If you have an iPod nano then you can't transfer Spotify streamed playlists onto the device anyway, only music you own.

I'm also having this problem. Any estimate on when this will be fixed?

Same here, almost tried everything.

Hi guys,

We’re still looking into this problem at the moment, and only want to give you news when we’re sure we have a fix. We hope you understand.

We'll post as soon as we have some news for you.

Who's your Spotify Star?

Ahh, truly thinking I am going mad. Bought a new Ipod Nano for my daughter and

signed up for Spotify premium. When I want to download music to the local file I am advised to purchase...

Cant seem to sync the Ipod Nano either can not find the device name under devices.

Is it not possible to sync anything to the Nano with a premium account?

To answer your question, no, not content from Spotify's catalogue.

Since the iPod nano does not support applications, the Spotify client can only be used to sync local tracks that you own to the iPod. Downloading/purchasing tracks is not included in the Spotify Premium subscription, it only gives you unlimited high quality (ad-free) streaming with the ability to make playlists available offline to be played inside the Spotify application when you do not have a connection. If you want to move tracks to your iPod nano then you must purhcase them first, either through Spotify or from another source (unless you already own them, then its just a case of copying them to the iPod).

If you read above, the Spotify client currently seems to be unable to sync with the most recent generation of iPod's, but the team are looking into this.

Just wanted to weigh in with another report. New iPod nano with Lightning Connector, doesn't show up in Spotify (iTunes off, iPod fresh out of the box, Spotify v 0.8.5.1333.g822e0de8).

Thanks, Kno. I've passed the info on.

Just adding weight to the stream.  I had a 6Gen Ipod Nano.  Worked great with Spotify.  Bought a 7Gen Nano.  Can't connect it to Spotify!!  Grrrr.  If you can't fix it, I'll cancel my Spotify premium subscription.  There's no point having it if I can't put my offline files onto my ipod.

(I don't want to use my phone for music because it's too big and won't get through the day on a charge - plus I need it for phone calls!!).

Maybe someone (HTC? Samsung?) needs to build an Android based, specialist music player.

AOG - You can't put your offline playlists onto an iPod nano, whether it connects or not. You may be able to on your phone, however.

You can about the iPod integration in Jude's post here, or in our FAQs here.

Right.  I see.  I read the article - that makes sense (unfortunately).  When I synced my Spotify library to my 6Gen Nano, I didn't notice that it hadn't taken the offline Spotify files.  Thanks for getting back to me - even if the news isn't good.

Same problem here.

Both Windows and Linux version of Spotify doesn't recognize my ipod nano.

Hope to see a fix soon.

I've added a bug thread for this in the new bugs section, here.
