Alexa connect issue due to geographical restrictions.

I Try to connect Alexa with the Spotify account and I get the " You are not eligible to enable this skill due to geographical restriction" I have friends with free pr premium Spotify account in the same city asme who can connect.

I tried changing address on amazon account to Germany and US, beside more apps available, still same restriction available. 

There is any option to put a Spotify account on Alexa, the radio stations in Romania are not enjoyable on daily basis.

Please save me.

Hey @Noguri,

open the Spotify app  on your phone/iPad, go to settings, voice assistants and link your Spotify app to Alexa there. It will work.

The solution is to initiate the process from the Spotify app instead of the Alexa device!

the same for me. At first command "spotify connect" stopped work. so I solved it with alexa support - they recommended disable/enable spotify skill. I disabled it and then I was not able to enable shill due the GEO problem. Then I found this thread.

I linked alexa via spotify app, but the command "alexa, spotify command" still don't work. in activity (in the alexa app) I see "Audio was not intended for this device".

I can't enable the Spotify skill on Alexa. I paid for a Duo Spotify account so I could use one and we could have a separate one for Alexa to use at home.  But I've never been able to enable it.  The error in Alexa is "You are not eligible to enable this skill due to Geographical Restrictions".

My Spotify account and Amazon are both UAE.  I did try changing my primary address to USA as some suggested, but that didnt work.  

Anyone managed to solve this in the UAE?

That being said, we'd suggest you give a try at some of the suggestions posted by other mods and users here to try and check if you notice any changes in the behavior you described.

If none of them does the trick, we'd recommend you contact Alexa support, so they'll help you with some further insights about this issue.

I bought a new echo for a neighbour. All set up but can't link it to their existing Spotify as alexa app states geographical restrictions.
I have the same echo for and mine has connected with out any issues. Any help appreciated.

This solution worked for me on Android. Once I opened Spotify app, it automatically showed a popup saying "Link to Alexa?" and I proceeded with the configuration. Also set Spotify as default.

The "idea" is just to publish the Spotify App for the most cool, expensive and interactive device also for italian users! Actually Spotify Support told me the App "is not available in my country" but seems pretty odd that its ok for "other countries"!!! Does this Spotify App for Echo Show exist or not? Is it a border issue or what?

Hello everyone! My name is Alina and I’m from Romania. I’m posting this hoping to find help and guidance on my problem.. I am desperate folks!!! I’ve read tons of posts regarding the same issue, I’ve done tons of steps but nothing seems to work! 
In order to understand better with what I’m dealing with, I’ll write a few details: 

I use a premium Spotify account on my iPhone but only because I connect it to my echos. I never use it on my phone.
I own an Alexa Echo Show 8 2nd generation and an Echo Spot . So far it worked perfectly. I was able to use my Spotify properly on both devices until it stopped!
I’ve tried the following steps so far:

- clear cache on Spotify

- uninstall and reinstall Spotify and Alexa app  from my phone

- changed my device adress on amazon.co.uk from Romania to UK (nothing happened), changed it back to my country 

- ensured that all devices and apps are using the same WiFi connection and the same frequency 

- disabled the Spotify skill from my Alexa skills and that’s when the real nightmare begun!! now it won’t even find the skill again in order to enable it back 

- I’ve asked Alexa to help me and she sent me a notification in order to install the skill but surprise! It says “you are not eligible to enable this skill due to geographical restrictions” !!!!!

At this point I started to question my sanity and did this: 

- reset both Alexa devices to their factory settings 

- closed my Amazon account 

- created a new Amazon account 

- set up both my devices from scratch 

I could swear that it worked but when I went to Music&More and tried to link a new music service, option for Spotify does appears but when I click on it NOTHING HAPPENS! 
Right now my default music provider is Amazon Music and I can’t do nothing about it! 
I’ve lost 3 entire hours for nothing, it only increased my level of anxiety! 
Im completely lost guys!

I don’t even know if there is anything left that I can do but I would really appreciate even if it’s empty promises….
