Another account is already registered with this email address.

Another account is already registered with this email address.

So, my account is registered with my email address, no problems there.
But when I try to upgrade other personal information, like postal code and phone type, it just says:
"Another account is already registered with this email address."

I get that you can only have one account per email, but how can that not be the one I'm trying to edit when it's registered with said email?

It's pretty common to come across this error if you use the same email address on your Facebook account, annoyingly you can accidentally and unknowingly create an extra account with the same email (one with a Spotify username and the other using Facebook).

If you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form they should be able to remove the extra account for you. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hmm..you're seeing that from the profile page

 

Can you try logging in and out and then changing your info? If the error persists, try updating your profile from a different browser.

I have logged in and out, logged in with username and password, and through facebook, I've waited and I've now tried with both chrome and IE.

No luck...

Edit: Yes, it's from the profile page. Can't edit anything.
