Artist Verification Delay

Hey, a couple weeks ago I submitted a request to "Spotify for Artists" to get verified but I have heard nothing from them. I even tried contacting support about a week ago and still nothing. My artist name is "Belmont". From what I understand, 250 followers are not required anymore so I'm not sure what is going on.

Any help is appreciated!

Rest assured the Artist Services team will get back to you as soon as possible. I'd recommend double-checking your junk/spam folders too, just in case their reply has gone in there 🙂

Hey Belmont, congrats on putting in your application. I know how big that move can be.

I'm at a music school atm and have seen a few friends go through the process of becoming a verified artist/band. From what I've seen, it might take a little while - more than a few weeks in some cases. If I had to guess, I think spotify is checking your BMI/ASCAP affiliation (to make sure their music is protected), going through to see if you're under a label/contract, and all the other crazy specifics that go along with putting your music up to a streaming service. I, personally, haven't gone through the process, I've only seen it from the outside.

If I had to suggest anything, though I know it sucks, I'd just sit tight for the moment and wait to hear back. I've had friends who've basically forgot about it until they saw the blue check next to their name - guess it just takes time. Though you've probably already looked at it, here's the Spotify for Artists Page. They have some good general info up there.

I contacted them on Twitter and they got back to me. Apparently they could not confirm my identity and they told me that I needed to resubmit with more info.
