Banned country

Banned country

Hi
I had subscribed for one year account legally, using payments by my friend in US
Now - for any reason - you've decided to ban my country (Iran)
Who is responsible for your sudden changes in policies?
I need to get access to spotify again, or at least a refund!
Thanks

Hey @Pooyabk,

What exactly do you mean by "ban"? Are you able to post a screenshot of the issue?

Thanks.

Well me and some of my friends are getting "no internet connection" for couple of days. First we thought It's a temporary issue, or a limitation from inside of country, but after opening the spotify website, It actually loads and says "Spotify is currently not available in your country" (I didn't get this message since last year)
Of course I can use proxies to bypass the ban, but they're also limited in country and made the connection so slow and somehow unusable

Hey @Pooyabk,

I did a quick check for you and it looks like Spotify currently isn't available in Iran: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/subscription_information/full-list-of-territories-w... 😞

You can sign up to be notified as soon as Spotify spreads to your country here: https://www.spotify.com/why-not-available/

Please let me or @Maxim know if there's anything else we can do to help you 🙂

Yes and the sad thing is they've changed this without any prior notification or explanation.
I think all customers deserve to know if and when their paid service is going to be unavailable, and of course why
Thank you for the answer

Hey @Pooyabk,

Spotify hasn't launched in Iran yet, that's why you're seeing the why-not-available page.

As @Jacob already mentioned, you can enter your email address on https://spotify.com/why-not-available to be one of the first to know when Spotify is available in your country.

Also, here you can find a list of countries where Spotify is currently available: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/subscription_information/full-list-of-territories-w...

As I mentioned before, we've been using spotify for a long time here until last week. Yes there was no official support for Iran, and we had to pay our membership by our friends in other countries, but we didn't get any connection errors inside the app (which seems to be an IP limitation)
So this is something new and disappointing...
I just hope it's temporary

@Pooyabk,

If you are using a US payment method and have a Spotify account through the United States, there should be no problem with using Spotify in Iran. Could you provide some screenshots of your issue? If you're trying to download Spotify or create a new account then it won't work, but if you already have Spotify and an account then there may be a larger underlying issue.

Looking forward to your response 🙂

Unfortunately spotify only works with VPN in Iran and I don't know why
