Can’t change email or password – wrong email on account, stuck on mobile web

Can’t change email or password – wrong email on account, stuck on mobile web

Hi, I need help with a strange issue on my Spotify account.

 

My account is registered with a wrong email, ending by gmail.co (it was supposed to be gmail.com, but I mistyped it and now that email doesn’t exist).

 

I can still access my account through the mobile web version because I was already logged in there. But whenever I try to change my email or password—either on the mobile web or when I had access to the app—it gives me one of the following errors:

 

  • “There was an error, try again later”
  • “There was a problem with the connection” (even when my internet is working fine)
  • Or it says my password is incorrect (but I know it’s the right one, I have it saved)

 

 

Because of this, I’m stuck using the very limited mobile web version. I don’t want to delete my account because it has my playlists and saved songs.

 

Please, is there any way to fix this or contact support directly to help me update the email?

We'd first recommend making sure that the email you're trying to use isn't already registered in another Spotify account. To do that, you can go to the password reset page and enter the correct email address - we only send the reset email if it's registered in the platform. If that's the case, check out this article for more info on how to close that account.

 

If it's not and you still can't update it, you can try reaching out to us privately via the links here. Our teams will take a look at your account and provide further help if possible.
