I have had my spotify account for years (well before you could link it to facebook) and now I am having problems linking it with my facebook acount as I seem to have accidentally created a second account with my facebook log in details. How do I delete my newer spotify account so I can sync my old one with it?
Also both accounts seem to have the same email address linked to them so this means I can't update my information on my old spotify account.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
It sounds like you might have a duplicate account somewhere in the system. I would suggest you drop the Spotify team an email directly using the online contact form and they will be able to look into your accounts a little closer for you.
If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

I'm having similar problems! It's so annoying. I've tried connecting my account to facebook and it says it's not possible because my facebook already has an account. I just need the facebook spotify account deleted or something.

Hey Miriam! Welcome to the community 🙂
It does sound like your Facebook account has its own Spotify account which means they can't be merged automatically. You will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they should be able to remove the extra one for you.

Hello. I have a similar issue.
I have 2 Spotify accounts. I am unable to connect my new premium account to my Facebook. Every time I attempt to connect my old account is connected instead.
Any help would be much appreciated.
@robwilsonninety - Is the account you have premium on a Spotify username style account or one created using Facebook?

The new premium account is a Spotify username account rather than an account through Facebook.
So, if you log into the desktop client using your Spotify username and password (not your email address) then go to:
Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Connect to Facebook > Login to your Facebook account
Does that not connect you to the right account?

What error message do you get from the desktop client if you try and connect to Facebook in Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Social Network @faysal ?

I think I have a similar problem...
I have just signed up for Spotify Premium for username XXXX, upgrading from an existing free account which had not been used for some time. According to the payment receipt there doesn’t appear to be an email address linked to this original account and so I have no email record of the payment apart from a screenshot from my web browser which I have kept. When I try to log in with my existing details it says there is a login error but won't let me change my passowrd. I then try to login with my email address (linked to FB) where it gives me a new username and says that I am still on the free service. It appears that I have 2 concurrent accounts running - one premium, one free, although I cannot access the premium account.
Please can you assist by either cancelling the payment for the premium account, or linking the payment details to my new account.

It seems like I have multipleIt accounts now that aren't my orginal one, I can see my other account when I search for my name, but it won't let me merge accounts, my orginal account with all my playlists is premium, but now it says free spotify. I tried to fix it through preferences, but I don't have the social network option on there. Help please,I've lost all my music. I can't believe a company as big as spotify doesn't have a phone number, and I have emailed but they haven't responded. I am currently paying for premium, but I can't get on my account, and it keeps taking me to an account with empty playists that says free spotify.
