Can't link new account with facebook

Hello all, i've done a bit of digging on this forum and still can't find an answer to my specific question. I created a new spotify account today with premium service. However when I try to link my spotify account to my facebook account, it acts as if I am already connected to some old free spotify account I had through my facebook profile. This facebook account is obsolete as it doesn't have the premium membership attached to it. I would love to swap my premium service to this facebook-generated account, but something tells me that isn't possible. If I am correct in my assumption, then I would like to have my facebook-generated Spotify account deleted so that I can link my new premium account to my facebook. Can this be done?
