Can't log in to the web player

Im trying to listen to a playlist from twitter but when I click the link, the web player automatically opens. I have disabled the web player, but it still opens anyway. 

When I try to log in to the web player, nothing happens. Ive tried logging in through facebook and nothing happens. Ive tried logging in using my username and password but I cant remember my password. Ive tried RESETTING my password, but for whatever reason, the email isnt coming through even though it says its being sent to the right address. It isnt in my spam or my trash, it just isnt appearing.

My desktop version of spotify is open right now and works fine. But I cant turn off the web player, and I cant log into it.

The easiest way to stop links opening in the web player is to change a setting in the web player itself. From the desktop client, could you click on your name in the top right and "account". This will open your account overview in the browser. Does it show your username as a number or as a name?

I'm guessing it shows bradyv in which case you don't use a facebook login. If I'm right, you should be able to request a password resset here although you do need to first log out of spotify, including this web site. It's worth checking also that your correct email address is shown in your account profile.
