My Question or Issue

When I launch the Spotify app takes me to the Sign up free/Continue with Facebook/Log in page.  When I click Log in and enter my credentials, the app tells me "You are currently set to offline.  Please go online to connect to Spotify" - even though I'm online.

When I tap Connect, the app says "Having trouble logging in?  We sent you an email with a link that will log you in."

Then I open my email app, click on the link, and the app says "This link has expired."

I'm able to stream on my smartphone using a mobile browser, so the problem is clearly with the app.

Hi,

Could it be that it's because of proxy settings? The app needs certain ports to access spotify. Web doesn't use them.

The proxy could be part of your wifi configuration. For example at work an administrator can block certain sites and ports.

Regards,

René
