Cannot Edit My Country Of Origin In My Account

When I joined Spotify, the system automatically defaulted my Country of Origin to USA but I am not from the USA. When I go into to Edit my Account and change my Country of Origin, the system will not allow me to insert the correct Country and the usual drop down that lists all of the countries in the world will not open. The USA is shown in the box and I cannot change this? Any ideas on how I can get the drop down with the Countries list to open?  Thanks!!!

I had this problem when I've been travelling to France and my UK-based Spotify simply refused to work. After research, I discovered that because my Spotify account is a free one based in UK and connectible via facebook and not via email+password, it's impossible to change.

From what I understand, the only way is to cancel my account with Facebook access, and create a new one with email access, which is one of those things from Spotify which puts me in a particularly bad mood

Hey @jplantieri,

It doesn't really matter if you signed up to Spotify via Facebook or not. You should always be able to change your account's country setting. 🙂

What makes you think that it's impossible to change? You can always log into https://spotify.com, even when your country setting doesn't match.

Well, last time I've been in France, I could not connect.

And no, I can;'t change my country of origin. It shows 'United Kingdom' in the drop down list, but it does not show any other country. Note that I have a free account.

In which country are you in at the moment?
