Cannot make a new account. What is this god-awful signup process?

I am trying to create a new Spotify account for the TV, so it's not linked to my own personal account so anyone can come and add their own stuff while they visit. Whatever. Should be simple.

I have tried every legit email I have. I have even tried my work email that I have never used for anything at all. None of the emails I have tried are linked to Facebook. Or Spotify. They should not be in your system. All I get is THIS:

"This email is already connected to an account."

Look at the attachment. A random, made-up email address is even given this error.

WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Can you give it a try on another device and/or another browser?
