Change username

Hey, i'm in need to change my username and name on profile... How can i do this guys?? I also don't want my Facebook account linked to my profile for log proposes...

You mean community's profile? You can't change your username.

If your account is linked to facebook you can't unlink it, you need to create a new one with another email.

I want to change my account username... That's so lame! If they don't have export options i'll loose all my music, playlists, friends etc.

If you contact Support they can transfer all your music, friends, subscription to a new account, and maybe change your username.

You can contact with Spotify Consumer Support filling this contact form, or tweeting to @SpotifyCares (ENG), @SpotifyAyuda (ESP) or @SpotifyAjuda (PT).

If you receive an automated email that leads you back to the community or help pages, reply to it (even if it's from "no-reply") and one of the Spotify team members will get back to you as soon as possible.

i wanted/need to change my account so that it does not display my facebook name/image. I've disconnected everything on both ends (fb and spotify) yet my spotify avatar/display name are still fb info.

nothing is working and all i want at this point is to simply deactivate/delete my spotify account.

However, I can not believe this is not possible on the user's end... talk about evil.

Claims you need to submit a contact form (utterly ridic ) but it's just an endless, labyrinth of help articles.

I can not believe how hard spotify makes it.

have never been so frustrated with a "modern" company.

but you guys do not let us delete out old accounts!!!

the problem is privacy.  it does nothing to just make a new account when the old one with fb photo/Name is still floating around.

Hey there @caejacks, welcome to the community!

Did you disconnect Facebook from your Spotify account through the Spotify desktop client? It can take around 24-48 hours for this to be finalized in the system. If it asks you to connect to Facebook in your account overview, then it has been finalized, but if your Facebook info is still showing on the clients, it helps to logout then back in or even a clean reinstall. Since you have provided a case number, I'll escalate your case and make sure you are taken care of in terms of deleting your account (if that is still needed) and any other issues you are having. You should hear from the right team soon! 🙂

Update guys: I'm still trying to make the change happen. I had to go on Twitter to have the Support Team (@spotifyajuda in portuguese) aware of the e-mail that i had sent some days before. So they answered me saying that they can't change my user name, but they can let me delete my account, make a new one with the same e-mail and they'll transfer all my data (followers, music, playlists) to the new account. Now i'm waiting for this to happen.
