Child's email address is linked to an account but not linked to an account

Child's email address is linked to an account but not linked to an account

I recently upgraded to Premium Family with the intention of adding my child as a member. I went back and forth a few times deciding between using Spotify Kids vs a "real" account, and somehow I got locked out of using his email.

If I try to create a new account with his email, I get "This address is already linked to an existing account. To continue, log in." I don't remember ever deciding on a password for his account. If I click "Log In" and then "Forgot Your Password?" and enter the same email, I get "This email address or username is not linked to a Spotify account."

So is it linked or isn't it? Wondering if you can reset the email somehow so I can use it.

It sounds like his account might've been disabled for some reason, so I recommend asking him to reach out to Support: https://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/ 🙂

I was able to get this working a few days later.  The email must have been cached as "used" somewhere on the backend, causing the rejection.  Was able to create a new account with the email once that was cleared out.
