Solved!

Constant dropouts, tracks stop starting ... wondering if other service would be better ...

Let me start by saying I LOVED Spotify and recommended to everyone.

I pay happily.

Or ... did.  Now, I get stop starts, drop outs and disconnects from the service... and now playlists play one or perhaps two or three songs in a row and then just stop.  Not a disconnect... because playing from the following track will work fine.

Seriously, I'll give it one week.  If it's not sorted in one week from me posting this, I have to cancel.  I love the service, but it's broken as hell and has been for sooooo long now.

Thanks and I hope someone can explain to me why these problems exist and how to fix them.

Running Mac OS Lion 10.7.3, Late 2011 24.ghz i7, 8gb Ram, 100mb Internet connection with Virgin Media, connected via network cable.  It's not the internet connection.  I can stream youtube videos and surf the internet fine while these Spotify issues arise.  And it's not a ports issue that's changed here because I've changed literally nothing.  Unless Spotify have changed their system.

Peter,

Thanks for the info.

I never even thought of going to the web player as an alternative (duh. I feel a little stupid. heh heh). Thanks for the advice. I'll try that.

What is the solution to constant dropouts? Song is inturupted three time every five minutes. The songs pickup where they left off. I dropped out of high quality stream and NO improvement. What can I do to fix this?

There is no solution. None whatsoever. The reality to Spotify is that your music will be perpetually interupted with annoying dropouts. Sometimes, it gets so bad it won't even play. usually this occurs during the evening. In any event, there's just too much competition to be tolerating this kind of spotty behavior (sorry, i couldn't resist the pun). That being said, I will be investifating other music streaming services this week. I used to do Pandora but got tired of them repeating the same songs. Any other suggestions besides Pandora?

the music stops playing after some 15 seconds. I logged in again but that did not help. How to solve this problem?

Are you getting any error messages?

Listening to Spotify almost every day. I reported the drop-out problem about 2 yars ago. It has become less annoying, but still happens, from time to time. This music streaming service is to be considered as a bit fragile by nature, isn't it?

Things are running stable on Spotify for a long time now. Wi Fi issues are not Spotify'S fault. That's all. Keep Rocking!

I don't think it's a WiFi issue - my Spotify app does this same thing with local files! It's driving me insane.

When you reinstalled it is it a big task to get up and going again? This stoppaging is driving me crazy.

I don't know whether it's coincidence or not, but I've uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify this evening, and so far have had about an hour with no problems. Fingers crossed, it's fixed.

I've again also the same issue... Cracking noices. Dropouts... Restarting Spotify ort my PC does not help.

Hello, For me, things changed to the better after switching to a new
ISP. There could be other explanations, too, but I'll go for this. ISPs
who are implying all kinds of limitations reg. as to file sharing is the
cause of such problems.

In my case, the ISP shouldn't the cause, as all songs war stored offline on my PC.

It's back again... The songs are high-frequently interuppted... It's not like normal dropout... I would guess 60-100 short interuptions per minutes

Sorry for you, I know how it feels. On my side however, this is not an
issue since a long time ago. Knock-on-wood.

So... The hickups are back. Also offline songs are affected. I don't see, how my ISP should affect the dtaa in my disk ;-/

I would like to provide the support debug logs, if I know how and whom.

Are you sure your computer isup to date and well maintained? Have you
tested your RAM? Searched for corrupt files?

So far most current Photoshop CS is working well. And I only experience trouble with Spotify... Youtube, Blueray, DVDs are working fine...

I did chkdsk on all my drives: no errors
Recheck the power settings: High performance, no power savings enabled
Windows 10 is uptodate, no pending updates

Never experienced such issues on my laptop. Only on my PC.

Only thing, that solved the issue, was a reboot of my PC:
