Daily mix more variation

Daily mix more variation

I find that with my daily mixes there isn't as much variation as I'd like. I feel like I do my part and like dislike different songs to hopefully better identify new songs for the algorithm to choose from. My issue is that many artists are only featured with one or two songs when there's a huge wealth of songs of theirs to choose from.

Hey, @Mrohrs
Welcome to Spotify Community and thanks for reaching out here!

Actually Daily Mix is composed of up to 6 mixes (playlists) based on your favorite genres and artists, as you know. It includes your regular listens and just some recommendations. So, to find out new content, the most recommended is the Made for You playlists called Discover Weekly or Release Radar. About the number of songs per artist available in a Mix, Spotify tries to bring too many artists as possible, giving you a major variety.

If you have any other further questions or need more help, let me know! I'd love to help!

Best Regards,
hezorg

Hello,
Thanks for the reply. More then that though is that I do utilize the daily mixes. I just seem to always hear the same songs from the same artist. Is there a way that more songs could be played by those artists?
Thank you,Matt

I feel you.  Over the past couple months my Daily Mixes have become increasingly disappointing.  Most of the time its just the same songs being re-used, bizarre music categories are being lumped together in the same mix (country & electronic), and some of them are literally just three albums shuffled around that keep popping up every week.  Even my "Discover Weekly" has begun recommending "new" music that have been in playlists I've created years prior (definitely not new to me).

I hear the same thing. I don't feel I should be an outlier in music tastes but the same tracks and artists keep coming up on daily mixes and discovery weekly. Are we hitting some limitations in Spotify's algorithm and music taste database?
