Declined credit details when redeeming a trial membership

Declined credit details when redeeming a trial membership

Hi,

 

I have tried 4 different credit cards and i continue to get the same message "Declined, please check or change payment details" when trying to redeem a trial membership and typing my credit card details. I have used the cards elsewhere so i dont understand why it is only Spotify declining my card.

 

I think it might be the fact that my card is registered in Denmark while my account is Swedish. Problem with that is that i dont seem to be able to change my country of residence without inputting my card details... so a catch 22...

 

Could someone spare an advice??

Hey, very warm welcome to the community!

 

If you want to update your country details please visit your profile page.

 

Spotify's system will only allow you to change your country depending of your current IP address, so if you have a FI IP address you will only be able to update your country to Finland.

You should be able to change your Spotify account country to any of the countries that Spotify currently operates. You can do this whatever your location, as long as your card issue country matches the country you are selecting.

 

In other words, you should be able to select Denmark if you have a Danish-issue card. Your card will be declined if the card country doesn't match the Spotify account country (for music licensing reasons).

   I'm having a similar problem, but there isn't a mix up with my billing and address county. As far as I can tell, all of the information I'm entering is correct and there doesn't seem to be a reason for my card being declined on my bank's side.I also tried filling out the contact form, but it just sits there- no matter what internet browser I'm using.

 

Help!
