Editing my spotify profile

I created a spotify account a while ago using an email. Now that I'm beginning to follow my friends I want to add a profile picture and my name (instead of just my username) to my existing account or link it to facebook. Is there a way to do this? I can't create a new account because I already payed for 6 months of premium on my current account. Does anyone know how to do this?

The only way to change your profile picture and change it to display your name is to connect your Spotify account to Facebook.

Note: It can take up to 24 hours to update after you connect to Facebook. If it still doesn't update you can try logging out and then back in.

You can do this by either of the following:

Desktop App:

Go into the settings and there is an option to connect your account to Facebook.

Mobile app:

Go into settings and click the "connect to Facebook" button.

I tried connecting to facebook through the mobile Spotify app. It opens
the facebook app, then switches directly back to spotify. Is this supposed
to happen or has it not connected?

I think that is supposed to happen.

Now try logging out of the Spotify app and then log back in (with Spotify username and password)

Then go to your profile and see if the name or picture has changed.

That's weird... 

Can you try in the desktop app?

I know sometimes it can take up to 24 hours to change.

If you see a disconnect button instead of the "connect to Faceboook" button, then it for sure has been connected.
