Email already in use - but no account exists with that email

Hi
I created my account a long time ago with an old email. Now I want to change the email to my gmail but Spotify says that the email is already in use. So when I try to recover my password for that email I got the message that no active account exists with that email.
What should I do to be able to change my mail to my current? Note that I use the new email in my facebook account, which is accessiable from my Spotify account (registred with old mail).
