Unable To Pay For Spotify Student Using EE Mobile Phone

I subscribed to Spotify Premium and was able to pay for this using my EE mobile contract phone. I then noticed after the first month that I can sign up for the Student discount. I cancelled my £9.99 a month package and I am now trying to setup the Student monthly cost of £4.99 paying this using my EE mobile phone. 

When I try the site states that the mobile number cannot be used and to use another method of payment. I wish to pay using my mobile phone so it is all on one bill. 

Can someone let me know why this is happening or am I missing something.

As far as I am aware, Spotify student discount in the UK through NUS and Unidays is only valid on recurring monthly subscriptions being paid for directly from your credit/debit card or PayPal. Since the EE mobile billing is provided via Boku (a 3rd party) they won't be able to give you that discounted price.
