How can I make spotify not forget what songs were already played on shuffle?

I notice that when I stop playing my shuffled playlist, when I try to resume it later on, it seems the app forgets what songs were previously played and will repeat songs instead of only playing songs I haven't played yet. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Thanks for the post.

There is currently now way to do this. Once you close the app, the shuffle algorith restarts. The algorithm prioritizes songs that you tend to listen to more often and this is why it seems you're hearing the same songs once shuffle play starts on a particular playlist.
