My Question or Issue

I have made three accounts with three new emails specifically made for them all because I keep getting assigned a random string of letters and numbers. Every single time it tells me to input a username that will SUPPOSEDLY "appear on your profile page", it just gives me a new slew of random letters and numbers. It doesn't matter whether I exclude spaces, special characters, or even capitals. I still can't get a username I actually want.

Please, how can I get a normal username that my friends can actually search for to find me? I don't have a Facebook, either, so that's out of the question. Please help, because this is getting really frustrating.

Hi there @Qdee,

thanks for reaching out about this !

Every new Spotify subscriber is getting a "serial" number generated for him as a security measure which is unchangeable.

However, while going through the subscription steps, there's a section called "How do you want us to call you?".

The username entered here would be your display name out in the app.

Meaning, that this one would be used when other users are searching for you.

If you still want to read more about changing usernames, please do so reading this information page.

Hope this shed some light.

Let me know if you have any further questions 🙂

Thanks. There's no option for this presented in the mobile app when you're making an account, so I had to do it on PC. That should really fix that.

Hi there @Qdee,

Thanks for looking for advise here! We're always happy to help 🙂

You can merge the two accounts. Here are some steps to help you with that:

  1. Cancel your subscription on the old account.

  2. Create a new account.

  3. Transfer your playlists to the new account.

  4. Close your old account.

  5. Subscribe to Premium on the new account.
