How to select an username?

I wanted a new username cause I didn't like my last one and my taste in music has changed over time so I created a new account only to find out I'm now generic user #f4msrlrf7c6k4n1tjzu4iurub with no option to change it. Can I do it? If not how do I delete my account?

As Spotify looks to improve the overall experience, they’re now automatically generating usernames, hence the random letters and numbers.

You don’t need to remember this to log in. You can access your account with your email address and password.

During signup, you were able to personalize your account by creating a profile name that’s displayed in the app. There are no limitations to a profile name, so you were able to choose any name you like 🙂

Note: It's not possible to log in with the profile name.

You can close your account at https://support.spotify.com/close-account 🙂
