How to upgrade from Premium tot Family?

Are these the correct steps when I want to upgrade from Premium tot Family?

1. Cancel current Premium subscription
2. Start new Family subscription
3. Add own account to Family subscription
4. Add additional accounts

Or does my Premium subscription automatically end when I choose to upgrade to a Family subscription?

According to the family plan help guide, you do not need to cancel your premium subscription first.
