A long time ago spotify introduced the ability to log in with facebook. Now when i first used this feature i was logged into an account with all of my playlists (dating back years) gone. I spent tireless hours rebuilding my collection for a few years.

 

It has just occured to me today while renewing my sub that this feature created a new account. Upon logging into my account to renew my sub i would usually click the "log in with facebook" option. Now today this did not work so i used my original credentials and renewed my sub having no idea what was happening.

 

As you can imagine logging into my account on my phone to get some playlists downloaded and being greeted by barren playlists of old was a huge shocker. So i investigated and used the facebook account to see what was happening.

 

To cut a long story short my spotify account (under the same email) have now been joined and i am left with absolutely no playlists, starred songs or anything else.

 

Can anyone (a spotify employee) rectify this and renew my facebook playlists onto this account as i imagine they will be on the system somewhere?

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

You will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they should be able to get those playlists restored for you. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

It does sound like you have two accounts. Maybe instead of just linking your original account to facebook, you created a new account. If you get in touch here, the accounts team can sort this out for you. If you get an automated response directing you back to the community or to the help pages, please reply to it to speed things along.

 

In the meantime, you should be able to find the playlists on your old account as long as they were public. In the desktop client or web player search bar search on spotify:user:<your spotify username>.
